So from Part 1, you got the idea that I’d finally decided to go out of my way to pick up real world marketing principle and techniques. The first book I read was Magnetic Sponsoring. Being a newbie in what appeared to be a shiny new thing then, I was FILLED WITH ENTHUSIASM!
Except that I didn’t know how and where to channel that energy.
Initially, I continued to research online to find out how to I should go about starting, what marketing tools were the best, the best way to sell my products etc. Soon, I was overwhelmed with so much information I didn’t know where to start. I was paralysed with so much information all telling me to do different things first I didn’t take action for close to a year!

Back then, affordable and good coaches were almost non-existent, others were mostly too expensive. So I trudged on, putting together all the scraps of information I could find on the internet, on my own. No coaches, no mentors.
And if you so choose to walk the path I took, you know you’ve finally arrived when you discover your first piece of advice on Speed Of Implementation (or Taking Action).

Trait No. 2: Speed of implementation
Like I mentioned in Part 1, knowledge that is without experience is useless. It has no meaning. No value. It will never make any difference in your life whatsoever. Yet most people feel very safe just conceptualising things. Planning for their success, thinking about everything over and over and over…
The fact is, you can’t get hurt playing in the game if you spend your whole life in the stands. That’s most people – in the stands of their own life. They’re safe yet miserable. Unfulfilled in desiring to escape themselves.
The question to ask yourself is this – am I willing to settle for a meagre passionless existence all the while knowing that its because I never really took action?
And the reason why most people don’t take action is because of this:
Perfectionism.
Some people call it Analysis Paralysis.
Perfectionism is something that stops you from action. Thinking about perfecting anything stops you from progressing. It causes you to think:
What else should I be learning?
What else should I be doing?
What else must I have?
This Fear Of The Unknown makes you feel fustrated, agitated, and even depressed. This pattern perpetuates continuously in a cycle until an external force pushes you. Stop your mind from thinking and get going because nothing matters until you get to the point where you can assess your progress.
Otherwise, you can choose to invest in private coaching to save yourself lots of time and bypass all the delays and fustration.
Most people will spend all their time analysing their potential for action they never really act. This sabotages a lot of entrepreneurs and is the reason why a lot of people are not successful. Perfection is unattainable. Your success in network marketing has got more to do with taking action than knowing or own the latest, shiniest marketing tool. The most perfect thing you can do is to take action NOW. Then, see how people respond to it and modify accordingly.
Nothing is gonna be perfect the first time through and THAT’S OK. Analysis without action is pointless.
In the next and final article for this 3 part series, I shall be covering the most important trait that has been responsible for everything I have done and achieved thus far. In fact, you can find this quality in every successful person in the world. And it’s none other than having the courage to take personal responsibility.
